India, Nov. 3 -- Paris Jackson has approached a Los Angeles court seeking the release of approximately $600 million from her late father Michael Jackson's estate to fund a family trust intended for her and her two brothers. In a new legal petition, the 28-year-old claims that despite the estate generating billions of dollars since the pop icon's death in 2009, the trust set up for his children remains unfunded, more than 17 years later.

According to documents filed on October 29 and reviewed by PEOPLE, Paris has asked a judge to direct the estate's executors to transfer a portion of its assets to the Michael Jackson Family Trust.
