India, Nov. 4 -- INEOS have parted ways with FC Lausanne-Sport manager Luka Elsner after just five months in charge, raising fresh questions about the ownership group's approach to managerial decisions as Manchester United continue to face pressure over Michael Carrick's future.

The Swiss club confirmed the departure on November 3 following a disappointing start to the season.

The development comes amid a difficult period for Manchester United, whose Premier League struggles had placed Carrick under increasing scrutiny.

However, a remarkable 3-2 Champions League comeback against Roma on Tuesday has given the United head coach some much-needed relief.
