India, Sept. 27 -- Sarvesh Kushare and Adarsh Ram Jothi Shankar will represent India in the men's high jump final at the Asian Games 2026 on Sunday, September 27 at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.

Kushare is entering the tournament in the best phase of his career, currently ranked as the Season's Asian No. 1 in the high jump.

He shattered the Indian national high jump record in June, 2026, with a spectacular 2.31m clearance at the National Inter-State Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar, surpassing Tejaswin Shankar's 8-year-old mark of 2.29m.

The 31 year old clinched silver medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow by clearing 2.25m, losing out on gold only due to a count-back tiebreaker.
