India, May 31 -- Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani recently became the new Chief of Defense Staff for India earlier today. He is the successor of General Anil Chauhan, whose tenure wrapped up after reaching the age of 65. Lieutant General Subramani previously served as the Military Adviser to the National Security Council Secretariat (NCSS) till May 2026.

Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani was appointed as the Chief of Defense Staff for India in a grand ceremony in New Delhi. While taking oath, he promised to implement the military theaterisation plan, introduce more indigenous weapons and also focus on strengthening tri-service synergy.
