India, Aug. 25 -- In a major development ahead of tonight's official gala, Manchester United Football Club captain Bruno Fernandes is set to be crowned the 2026 Men's PFA Player of the Year. News of the Portuguese midfielder's victory broke on Tuesday evening, just hours before the 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony takes place at the Manchester Opera House. The 31-year-old won the top prize through votes from fellow professional footballers across the country, beating strong competition from Manchester City Football Club striker Erling Haaland and Arsenal Football Club midfield star Declan Rice.
