India, Sept. 18 -- Maharashtra School Holiday Today (September 18): With Ganeshotsav continuing across Maharashtra, students and parents are now looking ahead to Friday and checking whether schools will open or remain shut. The question is particularly important in Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nasik and Nagpur, where festival activities have affected regular schedules.

Reports indicate that schools covered by the extended Ganeshotsav break are expected to remain closed, but the holiday does not apply automatically to every institution.
