India, July 23 -- The Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), led by Prakash Ambedkar, has called for a statewide Maharashtra bandh on July 23 to protest against the alleged police action during demonstrations in Delhi over the NEET examination irregularities. While the bandh has received support from some opposition parties, it is not a government-declared shutdown, and essential as well as most public services are expected to function normally across the state.

According to the VBA, the bandh is also aimed at expressing solidarity with students demanding greater transparency and accountability in the NEET examination process.
