India, Aug. 25 -- Skywatchers will get a chance to witness a striking partial lunar eclipse on August 27-28, when almost the entire Moon will pass through Earth's umbral shadow. At the height of the event, 96.2% of the lunar surface will be covered, potentially giving the Moon a reddish-orange appearance.

The eclipse will be visible from North America, South America, Europe and Africa, although the exact stages visible to observers will depend on their location.
