India, Aug. 9 -- Consumers of LPG who have not enrolled for e-KYC through Aadhaar must keep in mind the deadline of August 16, 2026. The oil marketing companies have been urging eligible users to go through the process of biometric verification to enjoy domestic LPG subsidies. The problem assumes greater significance with respect to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), who get targeted subsidies. According to official statistics, the reach of the scheme is impressive with over 10.57 crore PMUY LPG connections were made available till May 2026, while overall LPG connections in India stood at 33.39 crore as against 14.52 crore in 2014.
