India, Sept. 18 -- The Lizzie Borden Story brings one of America's most famous unsolved murder cases back into the spotlight. But behind the dramatic retelling is a real 19th century case that ended with Lizzie Borden being acquitted of killing her father and stepmother.

On August 4, 1892, Andrew Borden and his wife, Abby Borden, were found dead inside their home at 92 Second Street in Fall River, Massachusetts. Both had suffered multiple blows to the head. Lizzie, Andrew's younger daughter, was 32 and living in the house when the murders took place.

She was eventually arrested, charged with the murders and put on trial. In June 1893, a jury found her not guilty.
