India, Aug. 15 -- Wall Street ended Friday, August 14, lower after the S&P 500 reached a record close a day earlier. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite also declined as investors digested weaker US retail-sales data, higher oil prices and renewed concerns around Middle East tensions.

The pullback came after a strong Thursday session, when the S&P 500 climbed 0.65% to a record 7,798.99, the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.81% to 26,803.03, and the Dow Jones rose 0.13% to 53,839.99.
