India, June 8 -- Finally Alexander Zverev has written his name in tennis immortality. The 29-year-old German defeated Italy's Flavio Cobolli in a gruelling five-set marathon to win his first Grand Slam singles title at Roland Garros on June 7, 2026.

Zverev shed the unwanted tag of being "the best active player without a Major" with a monumental victory in Paris, after agonising defeats in three previous Grand Slam finals. With this final breakthrough, World No. 3 has officially moved his career singles titles to an impressive 25.
