India, Sept. 5 -- The long-awaited verdict in the Lindsay Clancy murder case never came. After more than a week of deliberations and repeated warnings that they could not agree, a Massachusetts jury ended the closely watched trial without deciding whether Clancy was criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children.

Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on Friday, September 4, after the 12-member jury remained deadlocked. The decision leaves the case unresolved and puts the next move in the hands of Plymouth County prosecutors, who must now decide whether to seek another trial or pursue another legal outcome.
