India, July 28 -- Major Rugby has announced a nationwide recall of several batches of levothyroxine sodium tablets after the medication was found to be less potent than expected. The recalled thyroid medicine was distributed across the United States starting in January 2025, and patients are being urged to check the affected lot numbers and consult their healthcare provider if they have the recalled product.

The company said the tablets were found to be subpotent, meaning they may contain less of the active ingredient than stated on the label. While Major Rugby said the issue is not expected to cause serious adverse health effects, patients are advised to stop using the affected batches and return them to the place of purchase.
