While Labor Day is a federal holiday, most major retailers have chosen to keep their doors open. However, shoppers should expect different schedules at some chains, while Costco remains closed nationwide.
Walmart, Target, Kroger, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are among the major stores operating on Labor Day. Sam's Club is also open but follows special holiday hours, while Aldi and some regional supermarket chains can operate on reduced schedules.
