India, Oct. 1 -- Korea Stock Market (KRX) Today (October 01): South Korea's stock market began October under pressure, but the trading session quickly developed into a sharp test of investor sentiment. The KOSPI opened at 6,814.49, down 0.34%, while the KOSDAQ started at 853.96, down 0.23%, as foreign and institutional selling, elevated US Treasury yields and weakness in major semiconductor stocks weighed on Seoul equities. However, the mood changed as buying emerged in defense, pharmaceuticals and other growth-linked shares. By early afternoon, the KOSPI had recovered to around 6,917, while the KOSDAQ climbed to 880.55.
