India, April 22 -- The sacred Char Dham Yatra 2026 has officially begun, marking the start of one of India's most important spiritual journeys. The portals of Gangotri Temple and Yamunotri Temple opened from April 19 on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya after a six-month winter break. Now, Kedarnath Temple has opened from today, that is April 22, while Badrinath Temple will open on April 23.
As per reports, around 19 lakh devotees have already registered for the pilgrimage, while last year saw nearly 51 lakh pilgrims undertaking the yatra.
