India, Sept. 4 -- A social media personality known for fishing content became an unlikely animal rescuer this week after he heard desperate meowing coming from a tree along a riverbank and discovered a tiny cat clinging to the branches above the water.

The rescue, which took place on 31 August, was carried out by a kayaker who posts under the handle @Caylor.atx and has since gone viral, according to outlet PetHelpful. Footage of the encounter shows the moment the young tuxedo cat, believed to be a kitten, was pulled from near the water's edge after apparently being stranded for an unknown period.
