India, June 2 -- For nearly three weeks, Karuppu has remained unstoppable at the box office. From packed theatres in Tamil Nadu to strong overseas numbers, the Suriya-starrer turned into one of the biggest Tamil hits of the year almost overnight. But after a dominant weekend, the film has now witnessed its first major weekday slowdown.

According to Sacnilk estimates, Karuppu earned Rs 2.40 crore India net on Day 18, marking a steep 59.3 percent drop from its Day 17 collection of Rs 5.90 crore. While the dip may appear dramatic on paper, trade experts believe it was expected after the film's exceptionally strong second weekend. Even with the decline, the film's overall performance remains extraordinary.
