India, May 4 -- Kanthi Uttar Assembly constituency is an interesting seat to watch. The Bharatiya Janata Party is heading towards another strong performance in West Bengal. BJP's Sumita Sinha is leading in this seat, while TMC's Debasis Bhunya is trailing by a margin of 15,522 votes. Apart from these two, there are eight other candidates contesting from this seat.

Sumita Sinha is aiming for a consecutive victory in this constituency. In the 2021 Assembly elections, she defeated TMC's Tarun Kumar Jana by a margin of 9,330 votes.

In this election, Kanthi Uttar reported a voter turnout of 91.26%, which is higher than in 2021, when it was 88.05%. The constituency went to the polls on April 23, 2026.
