India, June 30 -- A JetBlue Airways aircraft reported a suspected mid-air collision with a drone while landing at John F Kennedy International Airport in New York, prompting an immediate aviation safety review.

The incident has intensified concerns over unauthorised drone activity near major US airports, especially as similar near-miss events have recently been reported at Newark Liberty International Airport.

While the aircraft landed safely without any damage or disruption, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched a formal investigation to determine the circumstances and source of the drone activity in controlled airspace.
