India, July 3 -- World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has secured his place in the third round at The Championships, Wimbledon, although the journey has been far from straightforward. After being pushed to five sets in his opening match, the Italian was again tested in the second round, needing two tiebreaks before overcoming Nuno Borges in straight sets.

Sinner's next challenge comes against American Jenson Brooksby, who has impressed with commanding performances in his opening two matches. The 25-year-old has now reached the third round at Wimbledon for the second time in his career and will be aiming to surpass his previous best Grand Slam run by breaking into the quarter of the draw he has never reached before.
