India, July 21 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced that schools in the Kashmir Division and the winter zones of Jammu Division will remain closed on Tuesday, July 22, after extending the summer vacation by three more days. The decision follows a weather warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which has forecast widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, flash floods and landslides across several parts of the Union Territory.

Authorities have also temporarily suspended the Amarnath Yatra as a precaution, citing concerns over the safety of pilgrims due to deteriorating weather conditions.
