India, Aug. 27 -- US Navy is preparing sailors and their families for carrier deployments stretching well beyond seven months, as the service's ongoing conflict with Iran shows no sign of winding down, senior Navy leaders said on Wednesday.

Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Daryl Caudle and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy John Perryman told reporters at Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Virginia, that families of sailors assigned to the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group are already bracing for a deployment expected to last more than seven months once the ship departs San Diego in the coming weeks.
