India, Nov. 7 -- Lionel Messi could be heading back to Argentina with Inter Miami reportedly set to face River Plate in a pre-season friendly in January 2027. The Major League Soccer (MLS) side are expected to travel to Buenos Aires for the exhibition match against one of Argentina's biggest football clubs.

According to a report by Argentine newspaper LA NACION, the two clubs have an agreement in place for the fixture to take place on January 19, 2027. The match is expected to be played at River Plate's home ground, the Estadio Mas Monumental.
