India, Aug. 6 -- Cricket South Africa (CSA) has updated the schedule for the Indian women's cricket team's tour of South Africa. Set to take place in December 2026, the multi-format tour has now been expanded to include a brand-new three-match T20 International (T20I) series. The reason for inserting the three T20I games is to give both squads match practice ahead of the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy in 2027 February that Sri Lanka will host.

CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki explained that organising these matches ensure that both the Proteas Women and the Indian team have the best possible preparation for the prestigious world event.
