India, Aug. 30 -- The India Women's national cricket team opened its Women's Asia Cup 2026 campaign with a convincing 94-run victory over Thailand in Dubai. The result, however, followed an intriguing mid-innings wobble. Shafali Verma's explosive 64 from 36 balls powered India to 159/9 before the bowlers took complete control.

The Thailand Women's national cricket team never threatened the chase, collapsing to 65 in 16.1 overs. Deepti Sharma marked her 150th T20I with a remarkable three-wicket spell, while Nandni Sharma also claimed three wickets.
