India, Oct. 16 -- Indian equity benchmarks are set for a potentially positive opening on Friday, October 16, as GIFT Nifty traded around 23,073.50, up 85 points in early deals. Investors will track quarterly earnings, corporate developments and company-specific announcements for direction.

The outlook follows a strong session on Thursday, when the Sensex closed at 74,315.61, gaining 1,533.72 points, or 2.11%. The Nifty50 advanced 374.65 points, or 1.66%, to finish at 22,997.35. Midcap and smallcap shares, however, lagged, with their respective indices falling 0.5% and 1.3%.

Which stocks are in focus today?

Wipro: Quarterly revenue rose to Rs 24,753 crore, while net profit declined 4.5% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 3,200 crore.
