India, Aug. 15 -- Shubman Gill's new-look Indian side will begin a fresh chapter in Test cricket when they take on Dhananjaya de Silva-led Sri Lanka in Galle. The first Test will be India's historic 600th Test match, while Galle will host its 50th Test. Both teams will also be looking to make a strong start to their World Test Championship campaign.

India will enter the contest without premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, while Sai Sudharsan is also unavailable due to injury. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, will miss Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis, with Lahiru Udara expected to open and Niroshan Dickwella set to return to the Test side.
