India, Aug. 24 -- The ICC has taken disciplinary action against India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sri Lanka pacer Asitha Fernando following their heated exchange during the first day of the second Test in Colombo. The governing body stepped in after the on-field confrontation between the two players attracted attention.

Jaiswal was fined 25 per cent of his match fee and received one demerit point for his involvement in the incident. Fernando was also sanctioned by the ICC, bringing an official conclusion to the altercation that occurred during the ongoing India-Sri Lanka Test.
