India, July 14 -- Ilia Topuria has opened up about the emotional toll of his divorce, admitting that the breakdown of his marriage forced him to shift his focus toward the parts of life he could still control. The former UFC lightweight champion stepped away from competition during his separation from Giorgina Uzcategui, as his personal life became increasingly difficult to manage.

The split, involving custody matters and intense public attention in Spain, placed Topuria under pressure away from the Octagon. After reaching an out-of-court settlement with Uzcategui, with whom he shares two children, the legal proceedings came to an end, allowing him to return his attention to his UFC career.
