India, Sept. 19 -- The death of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode has drawn attention to the life of a young student whose academic journey at one of India's premier institutes ended in tragedy. Wakode, a second-year student in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, was found dead in his hostel room on Friday evening, September 18, hours after an examination incident on campus.

The incident has since led to protests by students at the Powai campus, while police investigate the circumstances surrounding his death. IIT Bombay has said that no disciplinary action was initiated against Wakode after he was found using a mobile phone during an examination.
