India, July 15 -- The International Cricket Council (ICC) has sanctioned a humongous emergency cash relief package to prevent Cricket West Indies from collapsing under a massive economic crunch. The apex cricketing body gave the nod to an emergency loan of USD 12.82 million, equivalent to roughly Indian 107 Crore, to the troubled member board during their high-profile annual meetings that concluded in Edinburgh. The move, however, comes at an extremely sensitive time when the cash-strapped Caribbean board has to make up for its huge operational expenses. This shot in the arm for the regional team would definitely help in sustaining the administrative structure and protect its development plans at the grass-roots level.
