India, July 15 -- Carol Vorderman has shared the reason behind her absence from social media where she revealed how a simple walk near her home ended up as a frightening medical emergency. The former Countdown presenter said she was knocked unconscious after tripping over a tree root and later found herself back in hospital after her condition suddenly worsened.

Weeks after the accident, she was still battling severe dizziness before finally finding a treatment that worked.

Sharing the update on Instagram, Carol wrote, "I've got a bit of a story to tell you about my concussion, which might also explain why I was a bit offline in June."
