Home Ministry Mandates Advance Registration for Foreigners Staying Beyond 180 Days in India
India, June 2 -- The Union Home Ministry has revised the rules for foreign nationals seeking to stay in India beyond 180 days. Under the new provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Rules, 2025, foreign nationals who wish to extend their stay in India beyond 180 days must register before the existing period of 180-day expiry. However, certain relaxations and specific timelines have been established for children born in India to foreign parents.
