India, Aug. 21 -- FIH Men's Hockey World Cup 2026: The tournament has reached its crucial crossover stage after the conclusion of the initial pool phase. The 16 teams were split in four pools and each team played three matches before moving to the second stage based on their final position.

The top two teams from each of the opening pools will progress to Pool E and F, the rest will continue in the classification stage. The winners of Pool E and Pool F will go straight through to the semi-finals so every match from here on in is vital in the search for a place in the final four.
