India, Aug. 18 -- Hayden Panettiere Cause of Death: The sudden death of Hayden Panettiere has left fans and Hollywood waiting for answers, with authorities yet to determine what caused the 36-year-old actress to die. The Heroes and Nashville star was found unresponsive at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16, but a preliminary autopsy has ruled out trauma as a contributing factor. The investigation remains active as officials await additional testing.

Panettiere was found in cardiac arrest after a 911 call was placed at about 1:51 p.m. Emergency responders attempted advanced cardiac life support, but they could not revive her. The Greenville County Coroner's Office pronounced her dead at 2:32 p.m.
