India, Aug. 1 -- Gujarat Rain Alert Today (1 August): Gujarat continues to reel under a severe spell of monsoon rain with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red alert for 15 districts including Ahmedabad and Vadodara as heavy downpour throws normal life out of gear across the state. Incessant showers resulted in severe waterlogging in several regions and emergency response teams are on high alert to deal with any flood like situation. The State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) said that widespread rainfall during the 24-hour period ending at 6:00 AM on August 1 has significantly impacted multiple districts, prompting authorities to closely monitor rivers, reservoirs and vulnerable areas.
