India, July 27 -- Rockstar Games has confirmed an important detail about Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) that PlayStation users should know before buying the game.

Unlike Xbox Series X|S, PS5 retail download codes for GTA 6 will be region-locked, meaning players must redeem the code using a PlayStation Network (PSN) account registered in a supported region.

Since the physical edition includes a download code instead of a playable disc, buyers who purchase copies from another country could face activation issues. Meanwhile, Rockstar has confirmed that Xbox Series X|S users will not face the same restrictions.
