Global surge in contagious diseases strains health systems
India, May 24 -- A current rash of contagious (communicable) disease outbreaks worldwide is a healthcare nightmare that the WHO, local governments and healthcare facilities are struggling to contain. Healthcare workers are at great risk of contagious diseases. International attention has been focused on the Hantavirus infection surge on an international cruise ship, a highly contagious, high-mortality Ebola Virus outbreak in DRC (Congo) and Uganda, and earlier on an Mpox outbreak.
