India, June 6 -- The fourth edition of Lavender Festival 2026 began in Bhaderwah, Jammu and Kashmir, bringing together farmers, scientists, industry leaders, tourists from across the country.

The festival celebrates the success of India's Purple Revolution, which has transformed rural livelihoods through science, innovation and lavender cultivation.

The event highlights the remarkable journey of lavender farming in the region and the role played by CSIR-IIIM Jammu in promoting the crop.

Over the years, lavender cultivation has emerged as a model of science-led rural transformation, creating employment opportunities and encouraging entrepreneurship.
