India, July 10 -- Kylian Mbappe scripted an unwanted record after he missed a penalty in the first half of France's FIFA World Cup quarter-final match against Morocco. The French captain, one of the most prolific goal scorers of this generation, wanted to place it in the bottom-right corner, but his weak shot was denied by Yassine Bounou. His failed attempt made Mbappe only the second player from France to miss a penalty at the World Cup. He, however, redeemed himself with a spectacular strike in the second half, securing a crucial lead.
