India, July 3 -- During June 2026, France went through a turbulent heatwave that rippled through the country. Now a health agency has reported that the death poll crossed beyond 2,000 due to the extreme condition. Meanwhile, another heatwave is 'highly probable', if Meteo France's forecast is anything to go by.

Death Poll Crosses 2,000 Mark

According to Public Health France, a prominent French health agency, there was a noticeable 29.1% rise in heat related deaths during late June (22nd June 2026 to 28th June, 2026). While the death poll was around 2,025 due to temperatures that surged beyond 20 degCelsius in multiple parts of the country.
