India, Dec. 28 -- Sarwan, a resident of Firozpur district in Punjab, set an example of courage during Operation Sindoor by fearlessly extending help to Indian Army personnel deployed along the border. In recognition of his bravery and selfless service, the young boy was honoured on the occasion of National Veer Bal Diwas and selected for the Prime Minister's Rashtriya Veer Bal Puraskar.

The award was presented to Sarwan at a ceremony in New Delhi by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. Sarwan, along with other award winning children, also interacted with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, during the programme.
