India, July 19 -- Kerala has announced a holiday for educational institutions across the state on Monday ahead of the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup 2026 final between Argentina and Spain. The decision comes after growing requests from students and families, with the government prioritising convenience following the late-night timing of the blockbuster clash.

Chief Minister VD Satheesan has instructed all educational institutions, including professional colleges, to remain closed for the day. However, examinations that were already scheduled will go ahead as planned, ensuring academic activities are not disrupted while allowing students to follow the World Cup final.
