India, May 22 -- The NEET-UG 2026 examination has come under intense national scrutiny after allegations of a possible paper leak sparked political outrage, an administrative review, and the eventual cancellation of the test, followed by an announcement of a re-exam.
The issue reached Parliament, where members of the Standing Committee on Education questioned top officials of the National Testing Agency (NTA) on how the alleged malpractice occurred despite strict security protocols.
While the NTA has firmly denied any internal system breach, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues to probe the matter to determine the source of the irregularity and whether external interference played a role.
