India, Aug. 11 -- A three-day statewide strike by Haryana power employees was scheduled for August 11 to 13, 2026, raising concerns about possible electricity disruptions across the state. However, the latest update is that the proposed strike has been called off after talks with Energy Minister Anil Vij. Therefore, claims that Haryana will face a mandatory statewide power cut for three days because of the strike are misleading.

The proposed strike was linked to employee concerns over power-sector privatisation, a proposed parallel electricity distribution licence, the Haryana Agri DISCOM and smart meters.
