India, March 27 -- One of the biggest names was not present in the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix paddock, quite a surprise when the whole race weekend kicked off at the Suzuka International Circuit. We hardly saw the face of Fernando Alonso, the Aston Martin veteran, who was the most missing person of the media day on Thursday and the morning opening of the first free practice on Friday, as an absentee.

When on track, it was the young Stroll who took the bulk of the workload; the two-time world champion was out of view for personal/family matters. The team has made it public that the Spanish icon will return for the second practice session to get back to racing in a tough season for Silverstone based them.
