India, Aug. 29 -- Lando Norris has secured his long-term Formula 1 future with McLaren after signing a contract extension that will keep him at the Woking-based team through at least the end of 2030. The reigning world champion, who has raced exclusively for McLaren since making his F1 debut in 2019, has made it clear that he is happy with the team and would like to spend his entire career there.

The new deal is understood to include improved financial terms, although Norris has dismissed reports suggesting his salary is now on par with the sport's highest-paid drivers. McLaren team principal Andrea Stella welcomed the extension, stressing that keeping Norris provides important continuity as the team continues to build for the future.
