India, March 25 -- Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been sold for a record $1.78 billion (approximately Rs.16,600 crores) to a consortium comprising Indian and overseas business entities.  The consortium will now own both the men's and women's teams. United Spirits Limited (USL), the existing owner of the franchise, announced the lucrative all-cash deal. The Bengaluru-based franchise has been creating headlines both on and off the field. Both the men's and women's teams currently hold the titles in the IPL and the WPL, respectively.
